This cozy, cotton backed wool double knit is perfect for your next Toaster Sweater or Cosmos Sweatshirt. The heathered navy blue wool face is backed by an off white cotton that makes this fabric so comfortable against your skin. Enjoy the beauty of wool without the scratchy feeling.
Grey heather wool/cotton double knit - deadstock
This is a "deadstock" fabric meaning that it was left over from a design house or fabric mill and sold to a jobber before it reached our hands. Often the content of deadstock fabrics isn't known for certain but is a best educated guess after conducting a burn test, feeling and inspecting the fabric. This jobber did, however, know that the fabric was considered "washable wool" and that the content was wool/cotton/lycra without knowing the exact % amounts.

Content: Wool face/Cotton backing/Lycra (Lycra content % is unknown as this is deadstock fabric).
Transparency: Opaque
Hand: Slight drape but enough structure for a Toaster Sweater neck to stand upright. The wool face is fairly soft but the cotton backing is very soft.
Stretch: Moderate four-way stretch (approximately 25% - 30% horizontal and 20% vertical) - the perfect amount for a Toaster Sweater 1, Toaster Sweater 2, or Cosmos Sweatshirts.
We suggest: Toaster Sweater 1, Toaster Sweater 2, and the Cosmos Sweatshirts .
Care Instructions: Machine washable (according to the manufacturerer). I machine wash my fabric in cold and line dry before sewing. I wash my finished garment on gentle or hand wash and try not to over wash or wash too often being that it is wool. * Note - If you do prewash your fabric, just be aware that the fabric grain may warp slightly and you may lose an inch or so in the width due to the warp. I have not experienced any issues with my finished garments, however, if you are on the upper end of a fabric usage size range, you might want to purchase a little extra fabric for shrinkage.
