Say hello to your new go-to casual look. Refined yet relaxed, the clean lines of this simple knit jumpsuit are whispering, "secret pajamas". The Tumalo Jumpsuit is a sleeveless knit design featuring a tank-style top with narrow trims at the neck and armholes, a high-almost empire waist, dreamy deep pockets, a low scoop neck, and straight wide pant legs.
There are two versions, and two pant lengths. Version A offers enough coverage to be worn on its own while Version B features low cut neckline and armholes and is designed to be worn with a top underneath.
Make a pair of shorts or a full-length pair of pants. Choose between a 1” hem or a raw edge rolled hem.
For a summer outfit, try sewing it in a lightweight knit worn alone or with a tank top for a pop of color. Alternatively, Version B can be sewn in a medium-weight knit, paired with a T-shirt or sweater for cooler temps.

Fabrics, Sundries & Measurements
Fabrics: Knit fabrics with at least 25% horizontal and 25% vertical stretch is required. Jersey knits with some mechanical stretch such as - hemp jersey, cotton jersey, French terry, and sweatshirt fleece.
While the Tumalo Jumpsuit pattern was specifically designed for jersey knit fabrics, other knit fabrics may also be suitable. Lycra knits work for this pattern, however, the result may be slightly more fitted in the bust due to the lycra fabric having more recovery than the purely mechanical stretch knits that were used for fitting this pattern. A 100% cotton knit jersey with 25% vertical and 25% horizontal mechanical stretch was used for our sample garments.
If you decide to use a thick knit like sweatshirt fleece or one that easily distorts when stretched, you might need to consider using a secondary trim fabric that is stretchier, like a rib knit or a lycra knit. Every knit will fit slightly different, so basting the trims on before securing them in case you need to trim them down is a good idea.
Sundries: Thread.
Tools: A twin needle for sewing knits, fabric scissors, iron & ironing board, straight pins.
