Stretch French Terry - Pine Green - Deadstock
This is a "deadstock" fabric meaning that it was left over from a design house or fabric mill and sold to a jobber before it reached our hands. Often the content of deadstock fabrics isn't known for certain but is a best educated guess after conducting a burn test, feeling and inspecting the fabric.
Width: 44"
Content: Cotton/ Lycra (best educated guess for deadstock fabric)
Transparency: Opaque
Hand: Thick, medium-weight but somewhat heavy for a knit, dry to the touch, very stretchy, some drape, great recovery.
Stretch: 50% horizontal, 75% vertical - exceptional recovery - lots of lycra or elastane but exact amount is unknown
We suggest: Toaster Sweater 2 (if you like your neck to stand up tall and stiff - see garment photo) and the Elemental Pencil Skirt - Be aware that this is a narrow fabric for a knit and that our patterns do not give fabric requirements and layouts for this narrow of fabric.
Care Instructions: Machine wash in cold water with like colors. Tumble dry, however, too much dryer time can degrade lycra and elastane over time. For best results - hand wash cool, hang dry and do not bleach.
Note: Natural fiber fabrics usually fade and wear after use. This can sometimes lend a welcome worn-in or vintage appeal, however, if that isn't the look you are going for and you want to keep the integrity of the original colors and/finish, we suggest hand washing your fabric or garment in cold water and line drying. Always pretreat your fabric in the same manner that you intend for your finished garment.
